Kia: A history of car fires

This fire is just one of many Kia fires in the news lately. The auto safety watchdog (NHTSA) has received at least 22 complaints of Kia Optima fires. These fires occurred between 2012 to 2014.

“I’m monitoring the fire-related auto complaints and recalls. I pay special attention to ones that involve Kia.” says Meier. Richard Meier is a nationally recognized, certified vehicle fire investigator.

“We’re watching this situation very carefully. Luckily, our office hasn’t investigated and Kia related deaths, yet.”
